Honoring Black History Month: Celebrating Legacy, Service, and Community

Each February, El Paso comes together to honor Black History Month - celebrating the resilience, leadership, and lasting contributions of Black Americans who have helped shape our city and nation. This month is a time to reflect on the past, recognize progress, and reaffirm our commitment to equity, opportunity, and inclusion.

A Legacy That Shaped America

Black history is American history. From the courage of civil rights leaders and trailblazing educators to innovators, entrepreneurs, artists, service members, and community advocates, Black Americans have played a pivotal role in advancing justice, economic opportunity, and social change.

Legacy Through Leadership

Black leaders continue to strengthen communities through service, innovation, and advocacy. By championing access, education, and empowerment, these leaders help create pathways for future generations to thrive.

Our Commitment to Inclusion and Opportunity

As a community-focused organization, we believe diversity makes us stronger. Black History Month reinforces the importance of listening, learning, and acting-ensuring our programs, partnerships, and services reflect the communities we serve.

Looking Forward

As we celebrate the achievements of the past and present, we also look ahead with purpose: supporting equity, encouraging dialogue, and building opportunities that help every community member succeed.
