El Paso, Texas: FirstLight Community Foundation will be hosting its 5th Annual Golf Classic at Painted Dunes on October 9th, 2025. Since its inception in 2015, The FirstLight Community Foundation has been on a heartfelt mission to create and implement programs that make a lasting, meaningful difference in the El Paso, Fort Bliss, and Las Cruces communities.
“We are proud to host this year’s 5th Annual Community Foundation Golf Classic, a cornerstone event that helps fuel the educational dreams of students in our serving communities of El Paso, Fort Bliss, and Dona Ana County. By coming together, we not only enjoy a day of golf, but we also raise scholarship funds to help empower the next generation of leaders. Supporting local students through education is an investment in a brighter future for all of us” said Margie Salazar, President and CEO of FirstLight Federal Credit Union.

The FirstLight Community Foundation has passionately dedicated itself to supporting higher education and bridging the financial literacy gap in our region. The foundation has been on a heartfelt mission to create and implement programs that make a lasting, meaningful difference in the El Paso and Las Cruces communities. Thanks to the unwavering support of the community and the tremendous success of its fundraising efforts, in the past 4 years, the foundation has raised nearly $450,000, awarding over $150,000 in student scholarships. Participation and support of the annual golf classic helps make a lasting impact on the lives of those in the El Paso, Fort Bliss, and Las Cruces communities.
