Payment Component: Disclosure Statement

Your lender is required to send you an Annual Escrow Account Disclosure Statement every twelve months. This shows your activity for the past year (how much you paid into the account and what bills your lender paid with funds from the account) as well as projections for next year. Look over this statement, and make sure that your lender is paying the right amount to the right parties. Also notify them if you receive any notice of a change to an escrowed bill. (Usually the property tax authority or insurance company will directly notify your lender, but it does not hurt to contact them yourself just in case.)
