2022 – 2023 Partners in Education Awards

Congratulations to our very own Maria De Jesus Ortiz-Frausto for being recognized by Ysleta Independent School District as "Rookie of the Year" Partners in Education Award! 

Her contributions to education:

Parkland Elementary has a long-standing tradition of teaching our students the importance of charity, community, inclusivity, and selflessness. These core values guide students throughout their academic and professional careers and places the “Toreros” in a privileged position to become the leaders of today and tomorrow. Throughout her first full year as a member of the Campus Education Improvement Committee, Maria has repeatedly shown that she possesses all the same qualities we strive to imbed in our students. Through her acts of generosity and continued commitment to our campus she has proven herself to be a positive influence on our students.

Through Maria’s generosity and unwavering support of Parkland Elementary and its students, they were able to organize a thanksgiving pantry for those families in the community who needed a helping hand. During the winter holidays Maria, along with First Light Federal Credit Union organized a jacket drive for our students. Additionally, Maria took the lead during teacher appreciation week by providing some of the deserving staff with gift cards and a token of appreciation for all their hard work.

We couldn’t ask for a better community partner than Maria as she continually represents FirstLight Federal Credit Union with professionalism, compassion, and dedication. It really is an honor to work alongside Maria – her personality, positivity and work ethic is contagious in the most motivating way.
