That's why we created the Individual Development Account (IDA) Homeownership Program*--a powerful savings program that helps you reach your down payment goal faster with up to $5,000 in matching funds from the FirstLight Community Foundation.
Program Highlights
$5,000 Match**: Save $1,000, and FirstLight will contribute up to $5,000 toward your down payment.
Flexible Savings Timeline:
Funds must remain in the IDA for at least 90 days, OR
If you're ready to buy sooner, simply provide:
Proof of pre-approval from FirstLight
Confirmation from a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO)
Who's Eligible?
Members with household income under $100,000
Members who complete six financial education courses with FirstLight Certified Financial Counselors
Members who finance their Mortgage through FirstLight

How It Works
1. Open Your IDA with a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO).
Start saving in a special FirstLight Individual Development Account.
2. Reach Your Savings Goal
When you save $1,000, we'll match it with $5,000 toward your home.
3. Take the Classes
Attend six required financial education courses to set you up for success.
4. Get Pre-Qualification & Purchase
Meet with a FirstLight Mortgage Loan Officer to begin your homebuying journey.

** For every $1 dollar saved in the Individual Development Account (IDA), FirstLight will match with $5 up to $5,000. IDA funds must remain in the account for 90 days unless the member receives pre-qualification from FirstLight or a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) verifies readiness to close.
