FIRSTLIGHT FEDERAL CREDIT UNION’S
HIGH-TECH ZARAGOZA BRANCH
FirstLight Federal Credit Union celebrated the grand opening of their newest branch location on El Paso’s far eastside at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 21. The public was invited to attend the grand opening and enjoy food, refreshments and prizes, along with special activities for kids. The new branch, which features the latest technology such as new Interactive Video Teller Machines (IVTs), is located at the corner of Zaragoza Road and Charles Schulte Drive, at 2200 N. Zaragoza.
“Our newest location is a showcase of the latest technology we offer to our membership,” said FirstLight President and CEO, Karl Murphy. “From new Interactive Video Teller Machines and extended hours to a technology bar, and even an iPad activity center for kids, FirstLight’s new Zaragoza branch is really something special.”
Already open for business, FirstLight members can visit the new branch to experience the new IVTs to complete their teller transactions. IVTs allow face-to-face interaction with a local FirstLight teller through video technology, which allows the credit union to offer extended hours. Personal Financial Representatives will also be available on-site to assist members with more complex transactions, such as new accounts and loans.
In addition, FirstLight’s friendly Home Loan Specialists will be available by appointment at this location to assist with mortgages, refinancing, and home equity loans. MEMBERS Financial Services Representatives will also be available by appointment to discuss and help with investments, retirement, and insurance services. Members may call 1-800-351-1670 to set up an appointment.
The open layout at the new branch provides members convenient access to all the new amenities and allows them to fully experience the high-quality member service FirstLight is known for. The Zaragoza facility will also include a training room. With its own private entrance, the training room, will be used for many different functions including Financial Literacy classes for the community. When not in use by FirstLight, this training room will also be available for community organizations to use as a meeting room. If interested, please contact Zaragoza branch management for more information.
FirstLight opened in 1955 as Frontier Federal Credit Union to serve the needs of military service men and women at Biggs Airbase. There have been many changes throughout the years, including the expansion of membership to anyone who lives, works, or worships in El Paso or Doña Ana Counties. FirstLight continues its commitment to the needs of the El Paso and Las Cruces communities and the military by offering a wide range of products and services to help members achieve their financial dreams.
